Diamond
#1. Diamond shape or silhouette
The shape of the diamond you choose is strictly a matter of personal preference.
Round shaped diamonds are known for displaying a sparkling image, while the princess shape offers an extra dash of beauty. Whatever diamond shape you choose, the jewelry will have a unique and stunning look.

#2. Diamond cut
The cut is the only man-made feature; the others derive from nature. There are four basic grades for cutting diamonds: ideal, good, wide, deep. The better the cut, the greater the clarity and brilliance of the diamond. Also, a diamond with an ideal cut consists of perfectly angled facets that reflect the clarity of the diamond in the best possible way.

#3. Diamond Clarity
The uniqueness of a diamond lies in its fusion with other minerals during crystallization.
The number, color, shape and size of these minerals, described as "nature's fingerprints," reflect the clarity of the diamond. This determines whether the diamond looks flawless, clear and smooth, or has scratches and internal markings (known as inclusions).
Important: If you are buying a piece of jewelry with a diamond larger than two carats, then it is important to choose a higher clarity grade, starting at VS2, to ensure that the diamond looks clean and clear.

#4. Diamond Color
Most diamonds appear to be colorless, but they are differentiated by a vague tone. Diamond color consists of several shades of white. The more transparent a diamond is, the more valuable it is. Diamond color is graded from D to Z.
The rarest and whitest gemstones are D, E, F and G.
Diamonds that define colors such as red, pink, blue and yellow are known as fancy diamonds.

#5. Car carat weight
The carat weight reflects the size of the diamond, and this characteristic has a major impact on the price of the jewelry: the higher the carat weight of the diamond, the higher the price of the diamond.
We recommend choosing the diamond's carat weight according to its cut-a diamond with the ideal cut will always display beauty and good taste, regardless of its size.
#6. Diamond Certificates. Assuring quality and value
A certificate done on diamond jewelry is called a gemologist's report and is usually done on diamonds that are over 0.49 ct. Before you buy a diamond, always make sure there is a certification from one of two internationally recognized diamond associations: the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or the American Gemological Society (AGS). The diamond's certification proves to you (and others) that the value and quality assigned to the diamond by your retailer is legitimate.
The gemological certificate for jewelry does not reveal absolutely everything about a diamond, but only in terms of the 4 C's (color, carat, clarity, cut/cut).

One of the most important factors is the size and quality of the center diamond. Know your starting point and set a budget before you start shopping.
