To form, diamond crystals must be subjected to certain conditions, such as high temperature, pressure and the right chemical composition. There's no guarantee that these carbon atoms will form diamonds, but even if they do, it takes thousands of years for diamonds to even come close to the surface of the Earth's crust.

Fake (imitation)diamonds

Fake orimitationdiamonds are synthetic stones thatresemble orimitate natural diamonds, but they are notcarbon-based compounds, nor do they havethe sameproperties as pure diamonds.
